Oops — my 2.6R S&P 500 sell hit stop-loss after I refused to move to break-even (my rule: B.E only after 3R). Watching 2.6R turn into a loss stung, but no revenge trade and no bending the rules. Balance now $20,569.

Today’s result: +$76.70. Took an early $28 loss on the Dow, then a winner brought the day green. It could have been bigger, but I’m satisfied — closing winners at 2R consistently would make a solid long-term edge.

Capital preservation over everything. US30 was a volatility masterclass — I sized down and closed roughly breakeven through two news spikes, staying patient instead of forcing trades. Today: a high-probability NAS100 short off the 0.5/0.618 Fib zone at 29,800 ahead of U.S. inflation.

Took 2 trades this morning — EURUSD and GBPUSD. Out at break-even on EURUSD, stopped on GBPUSD. Currently down 0.45%.

Today’s result: +$21.70. I didn’t let it run so it was modest, but I finished the day green. I’m piling pressure on myself this way, so I need to let go and just stick to the process.

Up +7.5%. Took my GBPUSD setup and added positions as it moved in my favour — closed +1.3% yesterday, +7.5% today. Not predicting or chasing, just executing the same process over and over.

Today is CPI day, so I’m staying out. High-impact news brings volatility, and protecting capital beats forcing a trade. No setup, no trade — I’ll be back when conditions are right.

Just opened my first trade on the $20K prop firm challenge account — risk kept to 0.25%, and I could hold it all week.

I lost my last trade on JP225 — held through Friday’s invalidation, hoping. That’s trading. I’m 2 of 7 lately, yet the account is still +$700. Exactly why I keep preaching risk management: a bad run doesn’t have to become a bad account.

Quick scalp before the London session. I took a short position on GBPUSD, looking to capture a short-term move before the main session gets underway. The idea is simple: execute the setup, manage the risk, and let the market do the rest.

BTC finally did its thing. After holding the trade for days – watching price come close, pull back, and test my patience – TP finally got hit. I closed a little earlier ahead of the news; the profit was already there and I had no reason to give it back. Profits secured. Account now sitting at $20,988+. JP225 is in a little drawdown, but we’re still very much in the game. One trade doesn’t make the account, one loss doesn’t break it either. Happy weekend my LinkedIn fam.

Today the focus is on the USD high-impact news – NFP, Unemployment Rate, and Average Hourly Earnings. After taking a stop loss on EURUSD yesterday, my trading week is most likely over. There’s no need to force trades ahead of major economic releases. Sometimes the best decision is to protect capital, stay disciplined, and come back with a clear mind. See you back in the markets on Monday.

Today’s result: +6.00 USD. I was in the red during the morning session, but I managed to recover and finish at break-even by the afternoon. Looking at the week as a whole, I can say it was a successful one. This is the sort of consistency I need to keep producing in the future.

Challenge account update. EURAUD decided to remind me that this thing is called a challenge for a reason. Took the loss. Balance now sitting at $20,350+. But we move. Currently have two positions running: BTC buys and JP225 sell – both still in profit. The interesting one is BTC: I’ve been holding this trade for 4 days now, today makes it day 5 and it still hasn’t reached TP. I’m starting to see some signs the move might be losing steam. If price breaks below 64k, I’ll probably close it and take whatever the market gives me. No attachment to the trade – if the reason for staying in it disappears, I’m out. Let’s see how today plays out. Just like I promised from day one, I’m documenting the entire process here – the wins and losses, the waiting, the decisions nobody sees.

Yesterday I took a short position on BTC, but my execution wasn’t good enough. After entering the trade, the price action didn’t provide the confirmation I was looking for. Rather than hoping the market would move in my favour, I closed the position manually as soon as it was slightly profitable. In my trading journal I consider this a break-even (BE). Every trade is a lesson. Good trading isn’t about being right every time – it’s about managing risk, staying disciplined, and following the plan.

Shorted BTC yesterday. Poor entry and no PA confirmation, so I closed slightly green and logged it as BE. Discipline > hope.

Today’s result: +106.60 USD. I only took one trade today, which shows good discipline – the market wasn’t particularly good this morning, so I didn’t open any positions. I’m pleased with the result. I did close my position earlier than I should have, because my dad surprised me with an ice cream and I decided to close the trade instead 🙂 That was a mistake on my part, as the trade could have made three times as much if I’d let it run.

The $100k Futures Challenge didn’t go my way this time. I took some solid wins along the way, but a stretch of losses eventually closed the account. A few reasons: I got a bit overconfident after good days and forced some lower-quality setups, didn’t stick to my risk limits as tightly as I should have, and let a couple of emotional decisions creep in after drawdowns. Classic lessons. Still, I had a blast putting in the work and testing myself – walking away with clearer rules and better habits. Huge thanks to Omer Rapaport, JoinProp, and The Trading Pit. Already looking forward to the next one. The journey continues.

Documenting the whole journey here – the wins, the losses, and the lessons in between. Hopefully mainly wins! The XAUUSD trade outlook I posted earlier took me out on TP. Trading carries risk; past performance isn’t a guarantee of future results.

Today’s result: +49.40 USD. I finished the morning in profit, so the signs were already looking positive for the day. Throughout August I’ll be continuing the challenge with smaller position sizes – I need to build up a bit more room for manoeuvre before increasing my position sizes later on. So far, everything is going according to plan. Let’s hope the positive momentum continues.
