One Prop Trader a Day – Episode 107
Adhistanaya Murdanta
My name is Adhistanaya Murdanta, and most people call me Adhis. I am 27 and I am from Bali, Indonesia. I scalp Forex and Gold using ICT concepts, working from higher-timeframe context and executing on lower timeframes.
My name is Adhistanaya Murdanta, though most people just call me Adhis. I am 27 years old, I am from Bali in Indonesia, and I am currently a full-time trader.
I mainly trade Forex, GBP/USD and EUR/USD, along with Gold, XAUUSD, and I focus on short-term opportunities.
Becoming a funded trader changed my mindset. It moved me from simply trying to make profits to protecting capital and staying consistent. It also pushed me to treat trading more like a professional career than just a personal activity.
The first thing I bought with trading money was not really about buying something specific. The real proof was being able to build trading into a career and make it a meaningful part of my lifestyle.
Before that, I failed around three to five challenges before getting funded, mostly because of execution and risk management mistakes.
My single most expensive lesson taught me how quickly poor risk management can erase weeks of good trading.
Did trading take a mental or emotional toll? Yes, especially when I was dealing with losing streaks, FOMO, and the pressure to recover losses quickly. Now I manage it by following strict risk limits, accepting losses as part of the business, and knowing when to stop trading for the day.
I have traded with Top One Trader, and I explored several other prop firms while looking for the right fit. What I mainly look for is fair drawdown rules, reliable payouts, transparent conditions, and rules that actually allow traders to trade normally.
Today I am primarily a scalper, trading Forex and XAUUSD. I usually work from higher-timeframe context and execute on lower timeframes.
My approach is heavily influenced by ICT concepts, especially liquidity, market structure, fair value gaps (FVGs) and key session levels.
A typical day starts with the economic calendar. I identify the higher-timeframe bias, the liquidity levels, and the areas where I want price to react.
Then I wait for my trading session, and I only execute when price reaches my area and gives me the confirmation I am looking for.
My most recent losing trade came from a setup that looked valid, but the confirmation was not strong enough and I entered too early. Looking back, I would have waited for clearer liquidity displacement and confirmation before taking the entry.
My biggest milestone so far is not one specific payout. It is reaching the point where I could pursue trading professionally and become a funded trader.
Not everyone around me fully understands trading, especially the amount of work and the discipline behind it. But the people closest to me have gradually understood that I treat it as a serious profession rather than gambling.
What separates me from someone who quit after their third failed challenge is probably my willingness to review myself instead of immediately blaming the market or the strategy.
And if someone gave me a $1,000,000 funded account today, I would probably do nothing different. I would trade the same setups and risk an even smaller percentage, because the capital is larger.
A one million dollar account should not make me trade more aggressively. It should make capital preservation even more important.
