Settlement price
What does Settlement price mean?
A settlement price is an exchange-determined reference used for specified valuation or settlement purposes. It can differ from the last transaction and from a contract's final expiration settlement value.
Example
An open futures position is marked using the daily settlement even though a later trade prints elsewhere.
Illustrative example; not a provider’s quoted offer. Why it matters for prop traders
Read the contract's settlement methodology. Do not substitute a chart's last candle for the reference used in an account calculation.
