Prop Firm Matchmaker

The JoinProp Prop Firm Matchmaker asks seven short questions about your trading style, experience, account size and goals, then matches your answers against a curated selection of funded-account programs from selected prop firms. It is free, and you do not need an account to see your results.

This tool compares selected firms, not every firm listed on JoinProp. Results reflect your answers and the programs currently included.

How the Prop Firm Matchmaker works

Most traders who fail a challenge do not fail because they cannot trade. They fail because they bought a programme whose rules fight their strategy. A scalper on a firm with a 50% best-day rule, or a swing trader on a firm that bans weekend holds, has paid for a fight they were never going to win. The Matchmaker exists to remove that mismatch before you pay.

It works in three steps:

  1. You answer seven questions about your market, trading style, experience, target account size, budget, payout priorities and the rules you cannot live with.
  2. We filter the field. Your answers rule out programmes whose drawdown model, evaluation structure, time limits or trading restrictions conflict with how you actually trade.
  3. You get a shortlist of firms that fit, each with its JoinProp score, so you can check the reasoning rather than take it on trust.

What the Matchmaker asks you

The seven questions cover the factors that decide whether a funded account is survivable for you:

  • Which market you trade – forex and CFDs, futures, crypto, stocks or options. Futures and CFD firms use different evaluation models, platforms and fee structures.
  • Your trading style – scalping, intraday, swing or algorithmic. This decides which consistency rules, holding restrictions and EA policies matter to you.
  • Your experience level – whether you need a forgiving first challenge or a programme built to scale.
  • The account size you are aiming for, and whether you want a scaling plan to grow it.
  • Your budget, including whether you want a refundable fee or a buy-now-pay-later option.
  • Your payout priorities – how fast you need to withdraw, how often, and by which method.
  • Your dealbreakers – news trading, weekend holding, time limits, trailing drawdown or consistency rules.

How JoinProp scores the firms behind your match

Every firm the Matchmaker can recommend has been scored out of 10 against a published rubric of nine categories. Payout reliability carries the heaviest weight at 20%, because being paid is the entire point of a funded account. Fee structure, drawdown rules and profit split account for a further 45% between them, and evaluation terms, trading rules, customer support, scaling plan and track record make up the rest.

Two things are deliberately excluded from that score: affiliate commission and promotional discounts. A firm cannot buy a better rating, and an aggressive sale does not lift a firm up the rankings. The full breakdown is in our prop firm ranking methodology.

After you get your match

Treat the shortlist as a starting point, not a verdict. Before you buy any challenge:

  • Open the full prop firm review for each firm and read the drawdown and payout sections properly.
  • Put your final two candidates side by side in our prop firm comparisons.
  • Check how, and how fast, each firm actually pays in our prop firm payouts comparison.
  • Look for a current code in our prop firm discount codes, but only after you have chosen the firm.
  • Verify the profit target, daily loss limit, maximum drawdown, drawdown type and payout conditions on the firm’s own terms page. Rules change, sometimes more than once a year.

Frequently asked questions

What is the JoinProp Prop Firm Matchmaker?

It is a free seven-question quiz that matches your trading style, experience and goals against a curated selection of funded-account programs from selected prop firms and returns a shortlist of the prop firms that fit you, each with its JoinProp score.

How long does the Prop Firm Matchmaker take?

There are seven short questions, and no account is required to see your results.

Is the Prop Firm Matchmaker free?

Yes. JoinProp is free to use and is funded by affiliate partnerships, which are disclosed and which never influence a firm’s score or ranking position.

How does JoinProp decide which prop firms to recommend?

Every firm is scored out of 10 across nine published categories, weighted so that payout reliability counts for 20%, with fee structure, drawdown rules and profit split making up a further 45%. The Matchmaker then filters that scored field by the answers you give.

Do affiliate partnerships change my results?

JoinProp may earn a commission if you buy through our links, and the Matchmaker compares selected affiliate partners rather than every firm listed on JoinProp. Affiliate status and commission size are excluded from the scoring model, partner firms can and do receive poor scores, and promotional discounts are excluded from firm quality scores. Review the reasons, trade-offs and latest terms before you choose.

Can the Matchmaker tell me which prop firm is best?

There is no single best prop firm. A firm that suits a disciplined intraday futures trader can be a poor fit for a swing trader who holds through news. The Matchmaker is built to find the firms that fit your constraints, which is a different and more useful question.

What should I check before buying a prop firm challenge?

Profit target, daily loss limit, maximum drawdown, whether drawdown is static or trailing and whether it is measured on balance or equity, minimum trading days, time limits, consistency rules, payout conditions and country availability. Always confirm these on the firm’s own terms page before paying.
